CHAO MAN CHUN
臺北人,現就讀於北藝大的藝術跨域研究所。繪畫、影像、刊物製作皆為創作媒材,近期則以身體的書寫開展作品的文本。現階段作品發想多與飲食相關,以 「食」 與 「物」 作為線索,抵抗或傳承,透過行動、影像及聲音,穿梭個體與集體疊合的複數空間之中。與此同時,也意圖透過不同類型的作品,串接起無形的比喻與可見的日常,關注於視覺景象、生活物件、個體與集體之間的關係。
作品曾展演於 《圖底圖:為建築與藝術的家園尋址》,he&she space,新北市(2023)、《跑攤藝術季》,1/2 Room,彰化 (2022)、《滴水穿石》,洪荒之力工作室,苗栗(2022)、《永久(免)審查》,打開當代藝術工作站,台北 (2021) 等。 並策劃紀錄片導演馬躍比吼於《生存/抵抗》,台南美術館 (2022)、《我們與未來的距離-原住民當代藝術展覽》,台灣原住民族文化園區 (2021) 展間。
Based in Taipei, CHAO Man-Chun is currently studying in the Graduate Institute of Trans-disciplinary Arts at Taipei National University of the Arts. Her works include paintings, videos and publications. Recently, she has been investigating the idea of body writing as the primary text through which she conducts her practice. Most of the works conducted through these lines of inquiry are related to the idea of diet, and at the present stage these ideas have been explored through an interdisciplinary linking of performance, image and sound. By using “eating” and “food” as clues, she moves through the plurality of space that can emerge when the individual and collective spheres overlap. In doing so, she attempts to draw attention to the connections between invisible metaphors and visible daily life through different media and forms of creation, focusing on visual scenes, life objects, and the relationship between our individual and shared lives.
Her works have been exhibited in a number of spaces, including “Figure Ground: the becoming-home of art and architecture”, New Taipei CIty (2023), “Tsáu Thuann Art Festival”, 1/2 Room, Changhua (2022), “Di Shui Chuan Shi”, Potestas {gallery?} , Miaoli (2022), and 永久(免)審查, OCAC, Taipei (2021). In addition, she worked with the documentary director Mayaw Biho in creating his installations for “Persistence/Resistance”, Tainan Art Museum (2022), and “The Distance between Us and the Future – Taiwan Indigenous Contemporary Art”, Taiwan Indigenous People Culture Park exhibition room (2021) .
