茶揹 chábēi ft. Immanuel Dannenbring 2023
(1) 一場茶席需備：茶壺、茶杯、茶倉＆茶、茶則、茶匙、茶枕、茶海、杯托、水餘、茶巾… 操作行動有： 掀蓋、行禮、溫杯、納茶、清杯、注水、分茶、奉茶、品茶… 茶席在乎的不僅是飲茶的風味，茶師欲傳遞的氛圍也蘊含著在這一期一會的舉手投足之間。那麼，由藝術家們主持的茶席，會是什麼樣貌呢？
(2) 茶杯，裝茶湯的容器，呵護了液態的移動。身體是不是也是一種容器？接納、吸收不同狀態的物質，再以各種方式回饋到肉身中—有機的容器。從內在塑型到外在，茶，是流動的液體、是風味、是提神物、是生活姿態、是自然的同時是文化、是政治與經濟、是戰爭、是歷史的化身物、是想像的投射…
(3) 物質肉身、精神容器，行動引發的聲音放大了身體、茶枝、杯器的碰撞，感官的強調與動作的變化，會在一場茶席中引發什麼？
(1) A tea ceremony requires preparations such as a teapot, teacups, tea leaves and tea caddy, tea spoon, tea serving pot, cup coaster, waste bowl, tea towel… The actions include opening the lid, bowing, warming the cups, pouring tea, clearing the cups, adding water, serving tea, offering tea, and tasting tea… A tea ceremony is not only about the taste of tea but also the atmosphere that the tea master conveys through every subtle movement. So, what will a tea ceremony led by artists look like?
(2) A teacup, a vessel for holding tea, nurtures the movement of liquid. Is the body also a container? It accepts and absorbs substances in different states and feeds them back to the physical body in various ways—a living container. From internal shaping to external expression, tea represents flowing liquid, flavor, a source of vitality, a way of life, nature, culture, politics and economics, war, embodiment of history, projection of imagination…
(3) Material body, spiritual container. The sounds produced by actions amplify the collision between the body, tea branches, and tea utensils, emphasizing sensations and changes in movements. What will be triggered in a tea ceremony?

戴向諶 Immanuel Dannenbring
戴向諶擅長使用個人田野錄音取得的環境聲響，結合打擊物件與電子聲響，進行編曲或即興表演，並藉由拉伸與混音，將其搜集之音色，延展出有機的配置。他的7.1 聲道作品 “Distant” 在就讀維多利亞大學紐西蘭音樂學院期間，榮獲Lilburn Trust 作曲獎。作曲閒暇之餘，他以電子音樂創作者 “Migrant” 作為演出名號，試圖於學術與流行音樂之間，找尋自身美學脈絡下的平衡。歸國初期，他曾參與管理臺中玩劇島小劇場藝術教育與活動策劃，統籌一系列國際實驗聲響藝術家的演出交流活動。
在臺灣他參與了大稻埕國際藝術節和鹿港今秋藝術節的個人現場表演，也於國立台灣美術館、C-LAB、失聲祭、聽說等場地演出。2020年他開始嘗試與多位台灣新媒體藝術家及錄像藝術家合作。
2021年他與複耳工作室在台北數位藝術中心駐村。2022 年獲選為紐西蘭 Pyramid Club & Thomas King Observatory 聲音藝術計畫的駐村藝術家。他個人創作和合作作品曾在台北數位藝術中心、台北立方計劃空間,王道銀行和恆成紙業 pop up 展覽計畫展出。
Immanuel Dannenbring is a New Zealand composer and sound artist based in Taipei Taiwan. Aesthetically he is interested in seeking a means to strike a balance or to obscure the boundaries between both academic and popular music worlds and demonstrates this through performance, composition, sound design and curation. As a performing artist he primarily works with the sampling of found sounds, field recordings and percussion in rehearsed and improvised settings under the pseudonym Migrant. In recent years he has started working in close collaboration with many video and new media artists.
